Take me out to the ball game
We headed down to 5/3 field tonight for the Dragon’s game.
There were all kinds of festivities going on inside the stadium and outside in honor of their all-time sellout streak, 815 games.
Magic Johnson, Archie Griffin, Eric Davis, and current Reds players who farmed out from Dayton were at the game.
On the way to the game, we stopped at Panera for a bite to eat. When we walked in there sat Magic Johnson finishing up his fruit smoothie. He spoke with us on his way out the the limo that was waiting to take him to the game.
Surviving the summer heat wave of 2011
Be sure to have grandchildren keep checking on you to make sure the heat hasn’t over come you.
Everyone and everything tries to find shade to relax in.
When cutting flowers, do it in the morning before the heat builds up. Don’t even take time to change from your pajamas. Do it before you and the flowers wilt.

Tree of Life
Birdman and I visited one of our most favorite places today, Yellow Springs, OH.
We went to The Emporium for lunch and to just sit around and read.
Then we caught the matinee showing of Tree of Life at the Little Art Theater.
I always enjoy going to the movies with Birdman, but honestly this movie had me shaking my head. It is going to take me a little time to ponder this one and figure it out.

Master Musicians Festival
Last weekend Birdman and I traveled to Somerset, Kentucky for the Master Musicians Festival. It was two days of great music and we were introduced to some fantastic bands that were new to us. David Mayfield Parade, Mountain Heart, and Holy Ghost Tent Revival were a few of our favorites.
Of course the culmination of the event and the reason we originally traveled south for it was the concert by Steve Earle and the Dukes!
We had front row viewing for the show and then were able to catch him afterwards signing autographs and greeting fans.
We stayed at the cabin each night and had time Saturday and Sunday morning to pick some flowers, paint, and read.
