Surprise Blooms

I had never tried a water garden before.  This year we started simply with some water lettuce in a galvanized tube.  They multiplied like crazy, but then this week the most beautiful blooms appeared.

 

The daylilies are almost gone…

Take whatever vegetables are growing in the garden and add whatever extras are in the cupboards.

While I was spending the day inside at a literature workshop, Birdman was sending me shots from his walk at Glen Helen.

Flowers from the new cutting bed

Lyle the Buddha cat immediately jumped up to inspect the new flower arrangement.  Birdman put in a new flower bed this summer, a cutting bed of zinnias and cosmos. It also makes a nice place to get a drink of water.

It finally arrived!!

My new Liberty of London duvet cover finally arrived. Who would have ever thought it would take months to get here. I could have just driven down to Huber to the Target store and bought it a long time ago if I had known. It was still nice to get it.
